August 20 to 24.


Background and Photos:


In Orlando, Florida, Iglesia Luterana Cristo Rey and Reformation Lutheran Church formed a TEAM to explore options for ministry together in the community south of downtown Orlando. David Raymond of ChurchFuture is their facilitator and advisor.

The TEAM

The TEAM consists of 3 members and the pastor from each congregation. From left to right, TEAM members are Maria Soto, Leonor Rosa, Carlos Rivera, Pastor Peter Rosa, Pastor Charles Miller, Patricia Johnson, Franklin Sharpe, and Linda Greer, who was substituting for TEAM member Darlene Kaiser. The photo was taken at an all-day workshop on June 21, 2008.

Cristo Rey started at Reformation in the early 1980's and it  currently shares a facility with St. Paul Lutheran Church in the Orlando Lutheran Towers. The photo left shows worship on Sunday, June 22, 2008.

The Cristo Rey visioning was facilitated in Spanish by William Rodriquez of Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church. Members shared their thoughts about why Cristo Rey exists and what they want their congregation to look like in the future.
